For those of you who are interested in saving the Foothills Library from sale and relocation the Save the Library group created an online petition. Please go to this link and take a minute to sign online:
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/save-the-glendale-foothills-library-maricopa
Please pass this link on to your friends, neighbors, anyone you can think of who might be willing to sign. All of your family members can sign. You don’t have to be registered to vote to sign this petition. If several thousand signatures are received it will make a tremendous impression on the Glendale City Council and its decision making.
A petitioner just wrote the following comment:
just now Comments: Selling the library to Midwestern for 5 million was part of the agreement before the library was built.

Does the lady know something we don’t – or is that simply an assumption on her part?
(believe it or not, that very thought crossed my mind, but I have been hesitant to write it.)
Any comment on this, Joyce?
When the land was sold by Midwestern they retained the first right of refusal should the city abandon the library and devise to sell the land. There is nothing in the contract that says after x number of years the city MUST sell.
Thank you for the answer, Joyce.
btw, as of this writing there are only 82 signatures on the online petition.
Is that good or bad number? I was hoping there would be more.
Also, Is there another petition being circulated that isn’t online – like at the FBL or FRAC itself?
I think many people remain unaware of the online petition. I do not know of any other petition.
I think the request from ipetitions for $25 (for ipetitions) is what stops many people
I agree. It is confusing but no one has to pay anything to sign the petition. Sign the petition and then click off the site.
